 Police in Craven have issued advice for car owners following a spate of car key burglaries.

These types of thefts are where burglars specifically break into people's home, take people's car keys and then steal the vehicles parked outside.

Ruth Pearson, a member of the Neighbourhood Policing team has taken to Twitter to share tips on how to make it that bit more difficult for would be offenders:

 

 

Earlier this week Stray FM reported the latest incident on Tuesday (12 February) where thieves targeted a property in Sutton-in-Craven.

Three masked men threatened the homeowner and demanded the keys to his Volkswagen 4x4.

The victim was able to call the police and the men made off empty handed.

Officers say the homeowner and his family were left shaken by the incident.
