A59 CLOSED in both directions at Upper Poppleton

The A59 at Upper Poppleton has been CLOSED in both directions.

  • Accident on the A59, near Upper Poppleton, York
  • Police say the road is closed in both directions
  • Police, fire and ambulance are all in attendance

It's after an accident close to the A1237 junction.

Police are on the scene - traffic officer Sgt Paul Cording confirmed passengers are trapped in a vehicle.

North Yorkshire Police said they have received reports of a two vehicle collision on the A59 near to Boroughbridge Road and the Hodgson Lane turn-off.

Police, fire and ambulance are all in attendance.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
