Churches in Yorkshire to show solidarity with Notre Dame

Churches in Yorkshire to show solidarity with Paris.

  • It comes following a huge blaze that damaged large parts of the cathedral in Paris earlier this week.
  • Ripon Cathedral is just one of many churches that will ring it's bells at 7pm tonight.
  • Otley All Saints Parish Church will also be taking part.
  • France's President says he wants to rebuild Notre-Dame cathedral in five years.

Bells at churches across Harrogate, Craven and Wharedale will ring out this evening following the devastating fire at Notre Dame.

The bell at Ripon Cathedral will ring out just after 7 o clock tonight with bells also ringing at Otley All Saints Parish Church, York Minster and at St Mary's Church in Tadcaster at the same time.

It's after a call from the Archbishop of Canterbury to show solidarity with those in Paris.

 

Earlier this week The French President says he wants Notre Dame cathedral to be rebuilt and to be "even more beautiful".

Emmanuel Macron has asked for the work to be finished within five years, after the huge fire on Monday.
