Police investigating death of Northallerton teenager make second arrest

Police investigating the death of a Northallerton teenager have made a second arrest. 

  • 15-year-old Leah Heyes was found collapsed in a Northallerton car park on Saturday 
  • She later died in hospital 
  • Police investigating her death made a second arrest last night
  • An 18-year-old was interviewed and has since been released while under investigation 
  • This follows the arrest of a 17-year-old 

Officers are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances that led to Leah's death. 

Police believe that Leah had taken the drug MDMA - also known as ecstasy or a "bomb" - prior to collapsing. 

Yesterday police said they had arrested a 17-year-old on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He's since been released under investigation. 

Officers say they made a second arrest last night. 

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and interviewed. He has since been released while under investigation.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time or has any information about the events on Saturday night, to come forward and speak to the police if they have not already done so.
