Harrogate BID (Business Improvement District) has launched a new visitor map to help drive footfall to businesses across the town centre.

  • The guide's been produced to promote the town’s four retail quarters – West Park, Victoria, Montpellier and Kings
  • The newly-formed Harrogate BID aims to boost the local economy
  • The pocket-sized guide is available from the Tourist Information Centre and businesses in the town centre

The new pocket-sized guide, which is now available from the Tourist Information Centre and businesses in the town centre, has been produced to promote the town’s four retail quarters – West Park, Victoria, Montpellier and Kings – and lists all the bars, cafes, restaurants and shops in each Quarter.

Harrogate BID chairman John Fox said:

"As a result of the popularity of the Montpellier Quarter, one of our first initiatives was to look at the town and create another three Quarters, which we subsequently did.

"This has proved a very popular move and one that has been welcomed by traders in the new Quarters. On the back of this we have now produced a map for visitors and residents.

"Whilst visitors coming to the town for the first time may only stay in the central Victoria Quarter, we are encouraging them to visit the other three Quarters, all of which are unique, and all well worth exploring."

John Fox added:

"The main goal of the BID is to boost the local economy by increasing the number of people buying goods and services from businesses in the town centre."

Harrogate BID says the map was launched with the support of West Park traders.

Sally Monkman from Boho Chic said:

“We are delighted to support the new initiative of the four quarters, and we hope by promoting the map and supporting each other,  customers will find more independent stores that they didn’t know were there.”
