Fire on Duchy Road, Harrogate

  • A fire broke out just before 4pm yesterday afternoon.
  • The fire caused significant damage to the house
  • It's not clear how it started.

A fire which broke out at a house on Duchy Road in Harrogate has caused significant damage.

Five fire crews were called at 3:50pm, where they found the fire had broken out on the first floor of a three storey house.

The blaze caused 100% fire damage to the room of origin, and there was also fire, heat and smoke damage to the rest of the property.

Firefighters used a number of ladders, small tools, four hose reel jets and two small jets to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and fire crews will be revisiting the scene this morning.
