More people in Harrogate, Craven & Wharfedale are listening for longer

  • Industry listening figures have been released for the first three months of 2019
  • The survey, RAJAR, is the standard measure across all of radio
  • Both the amount of people listening and the length of time they listen have increased
  • It comes as Stray FM prepares to turn 25 years old

Stray FM is celebrating this morning, as the radio industry audience figures show that more people are listening than ever before.

The RAJAR results, from an audience survey by IPSOS MORI, show that not only are more people from across Harrogate, Craven & Wharfedale listening to our FM, DAB and online streams, they're also listening for longer.

Over a 13 week period 108,000 people are tuning in, and each week you're listening for almost 400,000 hours!

And the timing couldn't be better as we turn 25 at the beginning of July, it really is the perfect birthday present.

Nick Hancock, Content Director of Stray FM said:

I'm delighted with the latest figures and so pleased that more people than ever are listening from all corners of Harrogate, Craven & Wharfedale.

It comes at the perfect time, as we celebrate our 25th anniversary at the start of July.

Our unique mix of local news, presenters who care about their local area and, of course, Proper Music Variety, are clearly a hit with our community.

We'll be continuing to spread the word with our biggest ever competition, Ten Thousand Smiles, where someone will win £10,000, as we look to build on this latest success.

Listen to Stray FM, or our sister station playing nothing but the best songs from the seventies, Stray 70s, now.
