Fire crews from Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon attended a blaze in a derelict building in Harrogate last night (Fri 24 May).

  • Three crews attended a blaze in a derelict building in Harrogate last night
  • It happened on Grey Field Lane and was reported at 22.42
  • Smoke reportedly filled the Jennyfield area

It was reported by a member of the public at 22.42.

An aerial ladder platform, main jets, and hose reel jets were needed to put out the blaze.

The smoke was reportedly seen across the whole of the Jennyfield area.

Eyewitness, Claire Blenkinsop, said:

"I spoke to a young family there whose house had filled with smoke, they were taking heir kids to go stay with friends - along with others stood around outside with blankets and pjs."

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
