North Yorkshire Police has arrested a 12-year-old boy on suspicion of arson in connection with a large fire at a former factory in Knaresborough.

A 12-year-old boy was arrested yesterday on suspicion of arson in connection with a large fire at the former Trelleborg Applied Technologies industrial unit on Halfpenny Lane.

The blaze broke out on Monday afternoon.

He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

North Yorkshire Police said they had a good response following their appeal for information, and the investigation is ongoing.
