The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across North and West Yorkshire.

  • A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued by the Met Office for North and West Yorkshire
  • It's in place from 3pm on Sunday (23 June) until midnight on Monday (24 June)
  • Thunderstorms are forecast with possible torrential rain and lightning
  • Flooding and power cuts may occur
  • Driving conditions are expected to be difficult

The warning is in place from Sunday 23 June at 3pm, until midnight on Monday 24 June.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which "may bring torrential rain and lightning", according to the Met Office.

Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions.

What to expect:

  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
  • There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
