WATCH: First look at Disney's Mulan live action

Published by The Stray FM News Team at 3:33pm 8th July 2019.

The greatly-anticipated film will be in cinemas on March 27th 2020.

The original film was released in 1998 and was hailed for being one of the most diverse Disney movies.

It also featured songs we all still sing today such as, "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" and, "A Girl Worth Fighting For".

LIVE ACTION REMAKE

On Disney's Youtube, they give a brief description of what to expect:

"When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father.

"Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential.

"It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father."

Something that may disappoint fans is that there's no Mushu in the trailer.

The comedic dragon, voiced by Eddie Murphy in the original, was a fan favourite.

If rumours are to be believed, the character may be replaced by a phoenix, although there is no official confirmation on this.
