Bull handler injured at the Great Yorkshire Show

  • A man's suffered head injuries following an incident with a bull at the Great Yorkshire Show.
  • The handler was leading a bull out of a ring when it was spooked, dragging the man along.
  • He received medical treatment at the site and has since been taken to Harrogate District Hospital.

A bull handler's been taken to hospital after being kicked by his prize bull at the Great Yorkshire Show.

The animal was being walked out of a ring after being judged earlier today (Tuesday, 9 July) when it was spooked and dragged its handler back into and across the ring.

The handler received treatment on site but has since been taken to hospital with what are being described as non-serious head injuries.

A spokesperson from the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the organisers behind the Great Yorkshire Show said:

"At approximately 9.45am a Limousin bull was being walked out of a ring after being judged when it was spooked and dragged its handler back into and across the ring. The handler required medical attention in the ring and has since been transferred to Harrogate District Hospital with what are thought to be non-serious head injuries."
