Harrogate woman remembered on the anniversary of her death

 A Harrogate woman who was killed by a drink and drug driver is being remembered today. 

  • Carol Jones, a member of North Yorkshire Police staff, died three years ago today 
  • Her family, friends and colleagues have gathered to remember her at Harrogate Police Station
  • Her family have paid tribute and thanked everyone who has supported them

Carol Jones, who worked for North Yorkshire Police, died three years ago today. 

She was on her way to work on 14th August 2016 when she was involved a collision at the junction of Otley Road and Cold Bath Road.

Today her family, friends and colleagues will visit the memorial garden at Harrogate Police Station to remember her. 

Her family have paid tribute and thanked everyone who has helped and supported them.

 

 

Simeon Denny from Pontefract, who was 29 at the time, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and driving over the prescribed limit for both alcohol and cannabis. In August 2017 he was sentenced to five years and nine months' imprisonment.
