Man Suffers 'Critical' Injuries in Skipton Collision

Published by The Stray FM News Team at 9:28am 21st September 2019.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision on the A56 at Thornton-in-Craven.

At 1.15am Saturday 21 September 2019 a silver Ford Focus, which was travelling towards Barnoldswick from the Skipton direction, left the road and collided with a tree, near to the junction with Brearlands.

The male driver of the car suffered critical injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

The road was closed in both directions for a number of hours to allow emergency services to attend the scene.

Officers are conducting enquiries to determine the circumstances around the incident and are appealing to any witnesses, who have not already spoke to police at the scene, to come forward.

They would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have captured dash cam footage of the collision, or seen the silver Ford Focus prior to it.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask to speak to Traffic Constable Rob Roberts in Harrogate or Traffic Constable Andy Ingram in Skipton.
