Saturday's Cycling Road Closures

Here is where and when the roads are closed for the 2019 Para-Cycling event on Saturday 21st September.

There will be a number of road closures throughout the day, with the longer closures being in place around central and eastern areas of Harrogate.

As there are various races taking place the road closures are "fixed" so will remain closed for the times set.

North Yorkshire County Council advise people traveling by car to the event that parking is available at the Great Yorkshire Showground.

Yorkshire 2019 have provided the following map of road closures for the main route, with timings for the closures:

Amber means the race route is closed but designated route crossing and access points are open.
Red means the race route and designated route crossing and access points are closed.
Outside of red and amber times the roads are open.

  • Amber: 10am - 11:30am
  • Red: 11:30am - 12:30pm
  • Amber: 12:30pm - 1pm

Holme on Spalding Moor/Foggathorpe/Bubwith/North Duffield/A163

  • Amber: 10:30am-12 noon
  • Red: 12 noon - 1pm
  • Amber: 1pm - 1:30pm

A19/Riccall/Kelfield/Cawood/Ozendyke/Ulleskelf/North Milford

  • Amber: 11am - 12:30pm
  • Red: 12:30pm - 1:30pm
  • Amber: 1:30pm - 2pm

  • Amber: 11:30am - 1pm

Harrogate Road Closures

As Harrogate is the finish and main hub for all UCI World Road Cycling Championship events, there are longer road closures in place.

The Harrogate Circuit will be closed on the morning for training and familiarisation for the riders taking part in later events.

On Saturday 21st September 2019 the road closures in Harrogate will be as follows:

Kings Road & Cheltenham Parade (A61)

  • Open: 00:00 - 08:30
  • Completely closed: 08:30 - 11:00
  • Open: 11:00 - 13:30
  • Completely closed: 13:30 - 17:30
  • Roads re-open by: 17:30

Parliament Street (A61) & West Park (A61)

  • Open: 00:00 - 06:00
  • Completely closed: 06:00 - 19:30
  • Roads re-open by: 19:30

Otley Road (B6162), Pot Bank (B6161), Oaker Bank (B6161), Penny Pot Lane, Cornwall Road, Harlow Moor Drive, Harlow Moor Road, Valley Drive, Herefore Road, Kent Road

  • Open: 00:00 - 07:00
  • Closed with crossing points to allow vehicle access: 07:00 - 08:30
  • Completely closed: 08:30-11:00
  • Roads re-open from: 12:00

Ripon Road (A61), Swan Road, Crescent Road
