"Let's cause mayhem!"

"Let's cause mayhem!"

Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver has spoken to Stray FM's Pete Egerton ahead of the club's FA Cup clash with Portsmouth.

  • Weaver describes it as the "biggest profile game the club has ever played in."

  • Portsmouth won the FA Cup in 2008

  • A near sell-out is expected at the CNG

Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver is relishing the thought of an FA Cup upset over league one Portsmouth when they face each other in front of the TV cameras on Monday night at 7:45PM.

Coupled with money from the tie being on television, a victory for Town on Monday would bag the club a whopping £110,000, but Simon is confident that his team are a "good group of humble lads" who won't let that factor play a part in adding pressure on the night.

Proud to be Town

Having watched Portsmouth demolish Southend in league one (4-1) earlier in the week, Simon is well aware of what a good footballing side they are, but with the Harrogate faithful behind them on Monday night at the CNG, he's hoping they can cause "mayhem" and surprise the Pompey players.

Listen to Simon's full chat with Pete Egerton below and good luck Town.
