Woman dies in crash near Grantley Hall

Crash near Grantley Hall claims one life

  • A woman has died following a crash between Ripon and Risplith.
  • Four other people were in the car at the time.
  • The white Audi they were traveling in hit a tree on the B6265 earlier today (6 December).

Police are investigating a fatal crash between Ripon and Risplith.

A white Audi RS3 was travelling along the B6265 at around 2.15am this morning (6 December) when it was involved in a collision with a tree near to Grantley Hall.

No other vehicles were involved.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 2.15am

One of the passengers - a 20-year-old woman - died at the scene and the driver and other passengers were taken to hospital.

One passenger remains in hospital and the others have been discharged.

The driver of the car, a 21 year old man, has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

Risplith accident
The B6265 was closed earlier today

Police are appealing for anyone who might have seen the Audi RS3 at any time between 11pm and 2.15am, travelling from Catterick towards Risplith.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
