Ambulance staff assaulted in Harrogate

Two Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff members have been assaulted in Harrogate. 

  • Two ambulance staff members were assaulted in Harrogate. 
  • It happened this morning around 3am. 
  • A man's been arrested and remains in police custody.   

It happened this morning off Skipton Road around 3am, as they were helping a patient.    

A man and a woman were injured, and the man collapsed.  

Nick Smith, Executive Director of Operations at Yorkshire Ambulance Service, said:

“Physical and verbal abuse against any member of NHS staff is completely unacceptable and we are doing everything we can to address this.

“We’re committed to supporting staff who are subject to aggressive behaviour and we will be working with police colleagues to investigate this incident and ensure appropriate action is taken.”

A 28 year-old man was arrested in connection and remains in police custody.
