A school in Boston Spa's been forced to close due to an outbreak of norovirus.

It's as a number of students and teachers at Boston Spa Academy have come down with the winter vomiting bug.

In a letter to parents, the principal has decided to shut the school on Tuesday and Wednesday (10 - 11 December) to help stop the spread of the virus.

A deep clean will be carried out to prevent further illness spreading.

In the letter, Principal Christopher Walsh thanked mums and dads for their support and understanding during this particularly unprecedented period.

He went on to say:

"We hope that anyone that has been affected feels better soon."

It should reopen on Thursday (12 December).
