Harrogate Town are gearing up for an FA Trophy first round tie against Hartlepool United.

  • Town going into the match off the back of victory against Torquay United.
  • The winners of Saturday's match will receive £4500 in prize money.
  • The final will take place at Wembley on 17th May 2020.

Harrogate Town are in confident mood ahead of Saturday's FA Trophy first round tie against National League rivals Hartlepool United. It's the first of three matches Town will face the Pools in less than a month.

Manager Simon Weaver hopes for three exciting matches as "historically, Hartlepool are a big team with big support."

Although the league is priority for Town, the FA Trophy is a competition the club would love to do well in, having never won it, and Weaver knows it's a good chance to "cement ideas."

Harrogate are favourites to progress given their recent form in the league and position in the table. Hartlepool will kick off Saturday's match having just picked up one league win in their last five, but the Town players know that in a cup game, anything can happen and so will need to be firing on all cylinders to make sure they're in the draw for the second round.
