More weather warnings have been issued for Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale 

  • Two more Met Office warnings have been issued  
  • We're being warned about wind on Saturday AND more rain on Monday 
  • That's on top of warnings for wind and rain over the next few days  
  • It follows stroms Ciara and Dennis which caused flooding

The Met Office has issued two new yellow weather warnings, one for wind on Saturday and another for rain on Monday.

That's along with another yellow warning for rain on Saturday, as well as warnings for rain and wind on Friday.

The Met Office has also issued a yellow weather warning for rain on Monday, with a small chance homes and businesses could be flooded.

The Met Office says whilst not all areas will see the strongest winds, gusts of 55-65 mph are expected in places.

Showers will fall as a mixture of rain, hail, and sleet with snow accumulations expected to be restricted to higher ground (above 200 to 300 m). Winds will gradually moderate during Saturday evening. 

It follows storms Ciara and Dennis, which caused some flooding in the Stray FM area.

What to expect

  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport
  • Some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads
