Snow hits Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale

Snow, sleet and heavy rain is causing disruption in Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale 

  • There are two yellow weather warnings in place for snow and rain 
  • Snow is being reported in Harrogate, Skipton and Ilkley 
  • Drivers are being urged to take care during this morning's commute 
  • There are also reports of further flooding in Boroughbridge 

A Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and rain is in place until 3pm this afternoon.

Problems are being reported on the roads as snow settles. Pool Bank, the A59 between Skipton and Ilkley and the A61 between Ripley and Harrogate are all affected. 

 

A number of flood warnings and flood alerts are also in place this morning. 

There are two flood warnings in Boroughbridge:

  • River Ure at Milby Island
  • River Ure at Roecliffe Caravan Park  
  • River Swale at Helperby
  • River Swale at Howe village and by Skipton Bridge

There are also a number of flood alerts in place: 

  • Lower River Nidd 
  • Lower River Ure
  • Upper River Aire
  • Upper River Nidd 
  • Lower River Swale
