  • It's been announced that the planned Scotch Corner Designer Village will open in Autumn 2021.

Scotch Corner in North Yorkshire is set to get a new shopping and leisure landmark which will open in Autumn 2021.

To be known as 'Scotch Corner Designer Village', it will become home to premium, high-street, and independent brands, spanning fashion, food, home and garden.

A number of well-known fashion brands have already announced they'll have stores at the village, including Tommy Hilfiger, BOSS, Calvin Klein, Adidas and Levi’s; high-street brands such as Gap, Clarks, Moss Bros, Mint Velvet, Brook Taverner, Joules, Regatta and Skechers; and a number of independent labels and local designers.

There'll also be ten restaurants and cafes, including Wagamama and Five Guys.

Alongside the stores and food outlets, developers are also promising 'specially designed leisure and sporting facilities', 'dynamic event spaces', 'state-of-the-art play spaces' for children, and an extensive garden centre.

Simon Waterfield, developer and co-owner of Scotch Corner Richmond LLP, said:

“Scotch Corner Designer Village is an incredibly exciting project. We are on track to open the leading outlet retail and leisure destination in the North of England in 2021 and are also proud to be championing local brands and businesses and offering our future customers exciting outlet brands to discover. Community is also at the heart of our vision and we look forward to creating some 330 jobs during construction and more than 1,000 permanent new jobs once we open.”

Developers say it will be 'one of the best-connected outlets in the UK', and are promising upgrades to the nearby road layout and new bus services to the village from nearby towns.
