  • LNER has banned refillable cups being used at the cafe bar.
  • It's in prevent possible contamination.
  • Another train company also banned the cups but has since reversed the decision.

The company says it's a precaution in response to coronavirus fears.

LNER says the policy is to prevent possible contamination.

A spokesperson said:

"As a responsible business we are providing regular updates to our people about the importance of hand hygiene based on advice from Public Health England.

We are currently unable to accept refillable cups to help prevent possible contamination from handling cups and lids.

The safety of our staff and customers remains our main priority."

Meanwhile GWR, which operates services to the South West from London Paddington, says it has had a rethink on the issue.

It had also banned the cups but changed its mind after passenger feedback.
