A Harrogate to Leeds train service has been named the most cancelled in the UK. 

  • It's according to research by The Sunday Times 
  • They found the 7.13 am Harrogate to Leeds service was cancelled the most 
  • It was cancelled 28 times over 55 days 
  • Operator Northern was bought into state ownership at the beginning of the month 

According to research by The Sunday Times and ontimetrains.co.uk, the 7.13 am Harrogate to Leeds service was the most cancelled in the UK. 

It was cancelled 28 times over 55 days since the timetable was changed in December.    

At the beginning of the month, Northern Rail was bought into state ownership.

The government replaced Arriva, who'd operated the franchise for almost four years, but that period was marred by delays, cancellations and strikes.

The second-highest number of cancellations went to the 8.12pm TransPennine Express Service from Liverpool Lime Street to Preston, with 19 out of 47 trains cancelled.
