Managing Director of Cedar Court Hotels, Wayne Topley, said

"It's been a really tough decision.  The last two weeks have been really tough on our team; our guests are struggling with making decisions, and as a business, we've got a real responsibility to lead the way.

"For social distancing to be really effective, you can't manage that effectively in a hotel.  Everything is open-plan and welcoming.  It's about reducing the risk of the contagion of that disease.

"The pressure has been significant - from the guys who operate our reservations and conference lines - down to every single decision our team has had to make in terms of their own social distancing.  It's been unprecedented really."
