Christmas in March? Your neighbors aren’t confused. This is love in the time of COVID.

People across Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale are putting up their Christmas lights to help spread some cheer during the coronavirus outbreak.

This idea originated on Twitter, encouraging people around the country to participate with christmas lights to boost spirits.

People are sharing their images on social media with #shinealight.

Harrogate's Lights for Fun has also got behind the idea - switching on its Christmas tree lights at its Hornbeam Park headquarters.

Jo Naughton from the company has been speaking to Stray FM:

"We put up ours up again at the weekend and when they came on in the evening, it genuinely made me smile. I was surprised it promoted that reaction in me because I didn't expect to to feel as uplifted as I did. It really put a smile on my face. I think if we can all do that it will have a positive reaction within the community."
