Covid cases on the rise across Yorkshire

  • The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in North Yorkshire has now reached 30.
  • There was an additional 6 testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am yesterday morning.
  • According to Public Health England figures, there are now 42 cases in Leeds and 14 across Bradford.

Official figures show that SIX more cases of coronavirus have been recorded in North Yorkshire.

It brings the number of cases recorded in the area up to 30.

Public Health England figures show that 30 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am yesterday morning (March 24) in North Yorkshire, up from 20 the same time the day before.

A week before, there were six cases.

In Leeds, there have been 42 confirmed cases and 14 in Bradford.

They were among the 542 cases recorded across the North East and Yorkshire.

In total, 90,436 people in the UK had been tested for coronavirus as of 24 March - currently between 5,000 and 6,000 a day, Department of Health and Social Care figures show.
