More coronavirus cases diagnosed in North Yorkshire

  • 19 more cases have been recorded in North Yorkshire, bringing to total to 69.
  • Public Healh England figures also reveal 80 in Leeds and a further 29 across the Bradford district.

Official figures show that 19 more cases of coronavirus have been recorded in North Yorkshire.

It brings the number of cases recorded in the area up to 69.

Public Health England figures show that 69 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by yesterday (27 March) in North Yorkshire, up from 50 the same time the day before.

A week before, there were 13 cases.

Official figures show there were 80 confirmed cases in Leeds and a further 29 across the Bradford district.

They were among the 1,222 cases recorded across the North East and Yorkshire, a figure which rose by 331 over the 24-hour period.

Across the UK, 14,543 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of Friday, Department of Health and Social Care figures show.

In total, 113,777 people had been tested, and 759 had died.
