'Hear to Help' phone line offers support to residents

  • St Michael's Hospice has launched a 'Hear to Help' phone line for people during coronavirus.
  • It's part of the 'Just B' bereavement support service but is open to anyone.
  • The phoneline will help provide support and advice to those who are feeling anxious or struggling with their emotional wellbeing around the outbreak.

A Harrogate hospice has opened up a support helpline for anyone who is struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.

Part of the Just 'B' bereavement support service, 'Hear to Help' is a dedicated phone line to help provide support and advice to those who are feeling anxious or struggling with their emotional wellbeing around the outbreak.

A team of professional, friendly and supportive people are available at the end of the phone for those who want to reach out if they need a moment to talk during this challenging and unprecedented time.

Hear to Help, St Michael's Hospice support service

Tony Collins, chief executive of St Michael's Hospice, said:

“We know that the current, ever-changing situation is very stressful and emotionally draining for many of us. As a charity committed to helping local people with their emotional well-being and mental health, we will be here seven days a week, to give people space and time to talk through their anxieties and be listened to.

“This service has been set up to help our local community and we hope it may also relieve some of the pressures on our colleagues in the NHS”

How and when can people get in contact?

The helpline is available to children, young people and adults across the Harrogate District, 8am – 8pm, seven days a week.

The number to call is (01423) 856 799.
