Coronavirus cases continue to rise

  • Confirmed coronavirus cases in the North East and Yorkshire now tops over 1,700.
  • Cases recorded in North Yorkshire now stands at 88.
  • Public Heath England figures also reveal 113 in Leeds and a further 46 across the Bradford district.

Official figures show 247 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been recorded across the Stray FM area.

The number of cases recorded in North Yorkshire now stands at 88.

Public Health England figures show that 113 people in Leeds had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am yesterday morning (29 March).

Across the Bradford district, confirmed cases of the virus top 46.

They were among the 1,792 cases recorded across the North East and Yorkshire.

Across the UK, 19,522 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of 9am on Sunday, Department of Health and Social Care figures show.

In total, 127,737 people had been tested, and, as of 1pm yesterday, 1,228 had died.

As the Government is no longer testing people who are self-isolating with mild symptoms, many cases may now not be detected.
