Coronavirus: Put those screens away!

We've got some ideas of hands-on activities to try on your own or with the kids!

  • With most of us working, schooling and socialising from home, it's hard to limit our screen-time.
  • There are various things to do during the lockdown to pass the time - including some which don't involve your telly, laptop, tablet or phone!
  • See if you can tick off everything on our list before we return to normal.

You've probably heard that a few times over the past couple of months.

We're all using the internet to work from home, learn from home, keep up to speed with essential news updates and just pass the time. You're even reading this off a screen,

However, we've got some suggestions of things you can do to get away from the screen for a few minutes.

A bit of baking

Everyone seems to be trying this one, so why not jump on the bandwagon?

With ingredients like yeast and eggs in short supply though, there are limits to how much you can do.

How about a sourdough focaccia? You can follow last year's Bake Off winner (and North Yorkshire's own!) David Atherton's recipe across a week:

Arts and crafts

This could be as adventurous or simple as you like.

Or if you haven't already, get a rainbow in your window? It doesn't have to be on paper - why not build a rainbow out of lego?

As we move into spring, there are lots of opportunities to get outside.
