Coronavirus cases in the North East and Yorkshire reaches 2,348

  • Confirmed coronavirus cases in North Yorkshire now stands at 122.
  • Official figures show an additional 17 people in the county tested positive for COVID-19 by 9am yesterday morning (Tuesday, 31 March).
  • There are 150 cases in the Leeds city region and 80 across the Bradford District.

Official figures show that 20 more cases of coronavirus have been recorded in North Yorkshire.

It brings the number of cases recorded in the area up to 122.

Public Health England figures show that 122 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am Tuesday morning (March 31) in North Yorkshire.

A week before, there were 24 cases.

Across West Yorkshire, the number of confirmed cases in the Leeds city region has topped 150 with 80 across the Bradford district. 

They were among the 2,348 cases recorded across the North East and Yorkshire.

Across the UK, 25,150 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of 9am on Tuesday, up from 19,522 at the same point on Sunday, Department of Health and Social Care figures show.

In total, 143,186 people had been tested, and, as of 5pm on Monday, 1,789 had died.
