Flouting lockdown rules

  • There are claims some people in Harrogate are continuing to ignore lockdown rules.
  • Traffic constable with North Yorkshire Police, Andrew Ingram shared his frustration on Twitter as he turned down one street, where there was a street party.
  • Walkers from Leeds, Keighley, Bradford and Oldham were stopped as they arrived at Malham Cove.
  • Craven Neighbourhood Policing team spoke to groups, who were also ignoring government advice to travel out of their area for exercise.

A policeman claims some people in Harrogate are continuing to ignore lockdown rules.

Traffic constable with North Yorkshire Police Andrew Ingram took to Twitter to express his frustration.

He said one street in the town was having a street party.

Elsewhere, Craven Neighbourhood Policing team also had to turn away a number of people from heading to Malham Cover.

Officers spoke to walkers from Leeds, Keighley, Bradford and Oldham who had ignored government advice to refrain from traveling out of their area for exercise.

Meanwhile, the Health Secretary says he's unsure when social distancing rules will be relaxed in the UK, as there are still questions over potential immunity to the virus.

Across the country, there have been images of people breaking the lockdown restrictions over the weekend during the warm weather.

Matt Hancock says those who ignore restrictions put everyone at risk.
