COVID-19 death toll rises in Harrogate

  • Official NHS information has revealed another coronavirus death in Harrogate.
  • The patient died on Friday (10 April) after contracting the infection.
  • 21 people have now passed away - with the first death recorded on 16 March.

Another person has died from coronavirus at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.

According to the latest official information released by the NHS, the latest death happened on Friday, 10 April.

It takes the total number of deaths at the hospital to 21.

Elsewhere, there have been no recent patient deaths at Airedale General.

However, the number of people who have died at the hospital after contracting COVID-19 stands at 27.

Commenting on the last recorded deaths within the UK on Friday, NHS England stated:

"A further 823 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 8,937.

Patients were aged between 11 and 102 years old.  

33 of the 823 patients (aged between 29 and 94 years old) had no known underlying health condition.  

Their families have been informed."
