More deaths have been recorded in Airedale and Harrogate 

  • Three more deaths have been recorded in the Stray FM area
  • 2 were at Harrogate Hospital 
  • 1 death was at Airedale Hospital 
  • 79 deaths were recorded overall in the North East and Yorkshire 
  • There were 667 deaths in England 

A further 79 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died in the North East and Yorkshire. 

Two patients died at Harrogate District Hospital and one at Airedale General Hospital. 

The figures are accurate as of 5pm on Monday 12th April.

They were among 1,262 deaths recorded across the North East and Yorkshire to date. 

Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.

This means some of the deaths may actually have taken place days earlier.

Commenting on the latest confirmed death toll figures, NHS England released this statement: 

"A further 667 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 10,261.Patients were aged between 17 and 101 years old.  

"40 of the 667 patients (aged between 37 and 98 years old) had no known underlying health condition.  

"Their families have been informed."
