Coronavirus: Skipton charity to send key workers on free holiday

Published by The Stray FM News Team at 6:45am 15th April 2020.

A Skipton-based children's charity is fundraising to send key workers and their children on a free holiday when the coronavirus pandemic is over.

  • The Principle Trust Children's Charity is fundraising to send some families on a free holiday.
  • It hopes to send key workers and their families to one of the charity's holiday homes when the pandemic is over.
  • The charity has been fundraising and is now appealing for ideas and donations.

The Principle Trust Children's Charity usually sends disadvantaged and disabled young people on holiday in one of their holiday homes.

So far, they have held an online virtual quiz - and one of their staff members has had her head shaved for charity!

Mike Davies, founder of The Principle Trust, said:

"We want to provide free holidays at our Holiday Homes, where we can, to the hard-working staff and their families once this pandemic is controlled, and people are able to relax and enjoy a well-earned break.

"There is no doubt that the children of the Key Workers, working hard with severe risk, at the forefront of this awful virus deserve a break with their parents to recharge and enjoy family life again."
