Tributes paid to nurse who worked at Harrogate Hospital

  • A Leeds nurse who worked at Harrogate Hospital for two years has died from coronavirus.
  • Zauma Ekoli, known as Josie, passed away on Monday (13 April).
  • Hospital bosses have paid tribute to her, saying she will be 'sadly missed by all'.

A nurse from Leeds who worked at Harrogate District Hospital has died after contracting coronavirus.

Zauma Ekoli, known as Josie, worked as an agency nurse across a number of wards and departments at the hospital.

The 55-year-old - who had more than 30-years of service - passed away on Monday (13 April).

Jill Foster, Chief Nurse at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“Zauma Ekoli, known as Josie, was a much-valued agency nurse who has worked with the Trust for the past two years.

"She worked a range of shifts in a number of wards and departments.

“Josie will be sadly missed by all her friends and colleagues at Harrogate District Hospital and our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.”
