Harrogate is home to the NHS Nightingale Hospital for Yorkshire and the Humber - here are the big numbers and pictures

  • It's officially opened this afternoon and provides up to 500 critical care beds for coronavirus patients in the region.

This afternoon has seen the official opening of the NHS Nightingale Hospital in Harrogate, serving Yorkshire and the Humber.

It will be used to treat COVID-19 patients if capacity of existing hospitals in the region is breached.

It's based in the Harrogate Convention Centre - and took less than three weeks to convert.
