The Skipton Choir is hoping the performance will raise vital funds for the Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice

They have released its version of When You Believe.

The 80-strong choir is led by musical director David Weale during the performance.

Anyone listening to the track will have the opportunity to link through to a donation page.

During these unprecedented times, the Skipton Choir have released their first virtual performance.

This is in aid of the Manorlands hospice at Oxenhope, West Yorkshire.

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, the hospice has seen income plummet as key fundraising activities were cancelled as a result of the crisis.

David Weale who led the group said:

“The choir has been determined to carry on since the lockdown put an end to our own weekly rehearsal sessions. I knew how important it was to people, and how much joy it brings members, so the idea for the video was a way to keep everyone singing and together. Then, as it became clear what a devastating impact the crisis is having on charities such as Manorlands, we thought if our recording could help in any way, then that would be amazing.

“Everyone featured in the video practised and recorded their individual parts at home then submitted solo recordings which I have digitally merged to produce a four part harmonised track. I think everyone is delighted with the result and would love to think it could be shared in a way that helps the hospice.”
