Leeds Festival has been cancelled, because of coronavirus

  • Festival organisers have released a statement
  • They say the 2021 event will be "worth the wait"
  • Ticket-holders can either get a refund or use their ticket in 2021.

Leeds Festival's organisers have announced that the 2020 festival will not be going ahead, due to coronavirus.

Lewis Capaldi, Liam Gallagher and Stormzy were among the artists due to perform at Bramham Park in August.

In a statement, they say they were hoping to go ahead with it, but have realised it's not possible.

Part of the statement reads:

"We want to extend our gratitude to our teams, artists and partners who work so hard each year. And to our fans, we’re nothing without you – we thank you for your continued support and understanding.

"We’re already counting down the days to when we’re back in the fields we call home for the August Bank holiday weekend. We promise you that Leeds 2021 will be worth the wait."

Ticket holders will be able to opt for a refund or choose to use their ticket for the 2021 event.
