Visiting is now allowed in a number of cases at Harrogate District Hospital

  • Visiting rules at Harrogate District Hospital have been revised to allow more patients to be seen by family.
  • Previously, visiting was suspended except from in exceptional circumstances.
  • There are now a number of cases where visitors will be allowed.

Harrogate District Hospital has updated its visitor guidance, allowing more patients to be seen by family members.

Before now, all visiting was suspended - apart from in exceptional circumstances - to slow the spread of coronavirus.

From today, ward staff will consider each patient on the ward each day and arrange a visiting time where appropriate.

Patients at the end of their lives will be allowed open visiting where possible - with up to two visitors at a time allowed throughout the day. These can be different family members.

Patients with dementia or a learning disability could also be visited, as well as long-stay patients at the hospital.

However, the hospital is warning that in certain cases, or at certain times, visiting may not be possible.
