An 86 year-old man from Harrogate is doing a 24-hour walk around the streets of Oatlands to raise money for a community group.

He's doing the walk in shifts with friends -  aiming to finish tomorrow, on his 87th birthday

His nephew Paul Snelling will be joining him.

 

Paul said: 

"Tom was inspired by the epic challenge and fundraising of Captain Tom Moore.  He wanted to attempt his own birthday challenge around the streets and community where's he lived his whole life, which is Oatlands. 

"It's going to be pretty warm out there so we'll need plenty of water and our hats on.  

"He used to be a member of a walking club, so hopefully I'll be able to keep up with him!  He's quite a quick walker, so I might end up jogging alongside him."
