Like many Airedale Hosptial have had to get creative to think of ways to celebrate their 50th anniversary

  • People can take part in the 50 for 50 challenge.
  • The hospital first opened in 1970.
  • The celebration will happen on July 5th.

Airedale Hospital are asking people to get involved to help celebrate their 50th anniversary.

The hospital opened its doors with 12 ambulances that brought the 60 patients from Keighley Victoria Hospital.

A 50 for 50 challenge will take place and as many people as possible can get involved.

Some of the ideas they have that people can do to get involved include:

  • Learn 50 new spellings?
  • Walk 50 miles?
  • Read 50 books?
  • Bake 50 buns?

Jodie Hearnshaw, Fundraising and Recognition Manager at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust says:

“Now more than ever we would love people to get involved in fundraising for our hospital whilst celebrating this special occasion.

You don’t have to be a super juggler or marathon runner to take part in this challenge.  We want people to let us know what they are up to so we can share it too and most of all we want people to have fun and take some time to celebrate our hospital being part of the community for the past 50 years.”

The trust will share the proceeds of the campaign 50:50 between the two hospital charities Airedale Hospital & Community Charity and Friends of Airedale.
