Man arrested following Dishforth crash

  • A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker - and drink driving - after a two-car collision near Dishforth.
  • The crash happened on the A168 between Topcliffe Junction and the services at around 7am (Monday, 8 June).
  • Both drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, and drink-driving, after a two-car collision in North Yorkshire.

A collision occurred shortly after 7am on Monday (8 June) on the A168 between Topcliffe Junction and the services, at Dishforth.

Both car drivers were taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.

The road was closed for a while but re-opened at around 9am.

North Yorkshire Police spokesperson:

"A man was arrested for assault of an emergency worker, Section 5 Public Order and failing to provide a specimen and on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink."
