The Skipton Choir is putting together a virtual performance to fundraise for charity Dementia Forward.

It's encouraging as many people in as possible in the area to get involved and learn a new song that has been written especially for the project.

The choir, which has been meeting virtually since lockdwon started, has already released a virtual performance that raised £3,000 for Manorlands Hospice.

Now they want their next performance to be open to the community.

Musical Director David Weale said:

"We wanted to open it out to the community because we know a lot of people are still in isolation and we still don't know when we're going to be able to meet again as a group.

"There are lots of choirs and orchestras and other music groups across the area that have no idea when they're going to meet again, so we wanted to open it out to the people of Skipton and get them involved."

David says anyone can get involved and there is no audition process.

He's put together a number of resources online to help people learn the song, which will be released at the beginning of August.
