An 18-year-old from Harrogate has raised over £1000 in one day as he finished his running challenge

An 18-year-old from Harrogate has completed his epic fundraising challenge, raising money for Mind, the mental health charity.

Morgan Glazier began the challenge with one mile on 1 June, increasing the distance of his daily runs by one mile per day, finishing with 30 miles today.

In total, Morgan's completed 465 miles! That's equivalent to the distance from Harrogate to John O'Groats, the most northerly point of mainland Britain!

His fundraising total has been increasing throughout the month, with over £1000 being donated just on the final day of the challenge.

As well as raising money, Morgan's also been raising awareness of mental health, including talking about his diagnosis of OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).

Stray FM's Will Smith joined Morgan for the first seven miles of his run this morning.

"I'm over the moon to be finished but my legs are in bits!"

After joining him for the start of his run this morning, Will Smith invited Morgan onto Stray FM for a debrief.

Listen to the full interview here:

Morgan told Will:

"The first ten miles were good because I was full of adrenaline, then it got really hard but the last five miles I summoned some extra energy from nowhere and managed to give a sprint finish at the end.

"It's been tough but I'm glad that it's over now"

He also thanked people who have donated, and thanked people (including Will Smith!!) who joined him for his runs:

"It's really kept me going, I couldn't imagine doing the last day all on my own.

"It's been amazing, I can't thank everyone enough for the support they've given me. It's been so good and really kept me going through the challenge."
