16 days with no new virus deaths across Harrogate and Airedale

No new local COVID-19 deaths at Harrogate and Airedale Hospitals

  • It's now been more than a fortnight since a death related to COVID-19 has been recorded at our hospitals.
  • NHS figures reveal 16 days have passed since a person with the disease has died at Harrogate Hospital and Airedale General.
  • The total figure remains at 188.

Harrogate District Hospital and Airedale General Hospital have now had sixteen days in a row without any new coronavirus deaths, latest figures show.

A death at the hospitals has not been recorded in daily updates from Public Health England since June 18.

It means the death toll at the hospitals from coronavirus still stands at 188.

Across Yorkshire, three new deaths were announced on Monday (July 6).

There have now been 2,845 deaths in the county since the pandemic began.

Nationally, a further 15 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in hospitals in England to 28,904.

Patients were aged between 42 and 93 years old.

All patients had known underlying health conditions.
