Settle Cricket Club take on 12 hour charity challenge

They'll be doing laps of their ground to try and raise money and also beat a world record.

  • Players and members of Settle Cricket Club are taking on a 12 hour run on Saturday
  • They're raising money for the club, and also for Bowel Cancer UK
  • They'll also be attempting to break the world record for distance covered in 12 hours

Settle Cricket Club players and members are taking on an epic challenge for charity on Saturday, and will try to break a world record in the process.

From 7am to 7pm they'll be doing laps of their ground at Marshfield, to raise money for the club and the charity Bowel Cancer UK.

They'll need to do over 470 laps to break the world record for distance covered in 12 hours, which stands at 169km.

They're hoping to raise money for the club, which has been badly hit financially during the coronavirus pandemic, and also Bowel Cancer UK, which a charity close to their hearts, after a couple of members lost their lives to the disease including one very suddenly last year.

The club are inviting people to come down and watch, they're also be an outdoor bar open.
