Customers will not have to book ahead and bookable afternoon tea upstairs in Harrogate or York will not be available.

Bettys says it will reveal more details of safety measures on its website on Friday, but adds it will include things like queue management and reorganisation of the cafe spaces.

Customers will also be asked to provide contact details for the NHS Test and Trace system.

There'll be a reduced menu to begin with that will be expanded slightly in August, however, Bettys is reassuring people its afternoon tea will be served.
